Certification

Crossroads Counseling Services is certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health (OhioMHAS) and is operated by qualified individuals, including certified Chemical Dependency Counselors. 

Program Description

The 72- hour Driver Intervention Program is designed as an alternative to incarceration for the first-time DUI/OVI offenders. The program focuses on changing attitudes, beliefs, behaviors related to drinking and driving as well as the use/abuse of chemicals.

Program Details

Cost

The Driver Intervention Program fee is $425. This fee is due in full 2 weeks prior to a class. A $100 dollar deposit is required to schedule a class. Only the first 20 people to pay a deposit will be scheduled for each class.

Cancellations must be made 2 weeks before the scheduled class. Any cancellations made after the 2 weeks will result in a $50.00 rescheduling fee. Clients who are absent to the program without notice risk losing their deposit. 

Schedule

The program begins Thursday at 3:00 P.M. and continues through Sunday at 3:00 P.M.

General Rules and Information

Each participant registered for a class date will receive a packet of information approximately 4 weeks prior to their class via mail or email. This packet will contain information regarding arrival time, reminders for payment dates, and general rules and information for participants. The Rules and Information can also be found HERE.

West Virginia DMV Information

Our program is approved by the WV DMV only for individuals who fall in certain categories:

-Ohio residents that were charged with an OVI/DUI in West Virginia

-West Virginia residents that were charged with an OVI/DUI in Ohio

-WV residents with an OVI/DUI that are employed in Ohio, are enrolled in an Ohio school, or stationed at a military base in Ohio. These individuals need prior approval from the DMV to have the program accepted.

It is the participant's responsibility to ensure that the WV DMV permits them to utilize Crossroads' DIP class in their case PRIOR to enrolling in the program. The WV DMV Safety & Treatment Unit should be contacted for approval.
